Equity-Linked Technology supports the Global Equity Linked Products business within Bank of Americas Global Markets Group. The team provides innovative solutions to speed equity derivatives trading, facilitate sales, assess risk and P&L, ensure efficient execution, and promote e-commerce. We aim to maintain a global perspective while recognizing and responding to specific regional requirements that make each market unique.

Team-Specific Structure and Responsibilities

The Convertible Bond technology team is responsible for strategic design and development of tools to support the business activities of convertible trading and sales world wide. The system components handle pricing, sales-to-trader workflow, exchange connection, position management, intra-day risk and trade data analysis.

Role-Specific Responsibilities

The convertible tech client-side developer will be responsible for implementing enhancements to C# client applications critical to Merrill's Convertible business. The applications provided by the convertible team are an interactive bond pricer and a flexible grid based market making application. The two in-house applications consist of .NET C# desktop clients and Linux based Java services. They are highly interactive and performance sensitive. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a command of test-driven-development, C#, win forms, WPF and other desktop development skills.

The candidate will also participate in the development of strategic projects primarily in Linux based Java services. A good understanding of the Java language and objects is helpful for this work.

The developer will work in conjunction with trading personnel and other team members to analyze business requirements and develop corresponding IT solutions. Finally, the candidate will be responsible for second-level support of production applications and must therefore be able to interact with traders to diagnose, work independently and solve issues in a timely fashion. This is a challenging role for a self-motivated individual.

All major new projects will be written as a combination C# clients and java services. Near term projects include server side processes to provide intelligent real-time analysis of market activity and integration of multiple market data sources for analytic tools used by the trading desk.

Experience and Skills Required

* C# development and related development tools experience. Minimum 3 years.
* Good knowledge of the test-driven-development environment and development tools.
* Some Java experience, with a working knowledge of the Java development tools.
* Good understanding of development best practices including unit testing and agile methods.
* Prior development and delivery of applications
* Knowledge of derivatives products is a plus.
