Job Description

Zurich is currently searching for a Senior Business Systems Analyst with data-focused project experience to join the Financial Solutions support team that will report to an Enterprise Data Manager at our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst at Zurich North America, you will partner with business stakeholders to determine business and user needs related to the financial systems infrastructure. You will also collaborate with other technical and business resources, analyze and document requirements, and evaluate and address priorities as necessary. This position will require interfacing with architects, technology SMEs, and strategic vendors to manage the solution - while ensuring compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate is highly analytic with strong technical skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment with direct exposure to business subject matter experts. This is a complex and technologically sophisticated environment within an existing high-performance team.

Additional responsibilities will include:

* Coordinating and leading activities with business owners to gather detailed data requirements through interviews, documentation and facilitated working sessions
* Monitoring business decisions and managing requirements documentation and communication
* Leading analysis of requirements to determine the systems' potential and defining the impact to other business units and systems while providing input to the development effort
* Creating process models based on business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components
* Performing impact analysis and supporting application testing, implementation and training activities throughout the process
* Leading individual(s) or sub project tasks affecting single or multiple business and IT departments
* Evaluating project impact through consultation with the business, regulatory, information technology management, development, quality assurance, validation, and training teams
* Supporting and performing testing as necessary to ensure original requirements are met
* Mentoring team members in technology, architecture and delivery of applications

Client Internally Focused - The job's core deliverables rely on delivering service to internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. May involve sharing subject matter expertise to others in the organization or supporting others in their efforts to deliver on our promise.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

OR
* High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area

AND
* Process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience
* Experience with process modeling tools
* Insurance application system design/analysis experience
* Experience with use case development
* Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong knowledge of SQL and data concepts
* Background in data Warehousing
* Advanced Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) skills
* Consulting experience
* Experience in an analytical role on complex enterprise projects
* Knowledge of financial services industry
* In-depth knowledge of insurance business processes and processing
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills needed; ability to tailor approach based upon audience and message
