Job Description

Amazon seeks a results-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to identify strategic initiatives that will inform the direction of the Amazon FreeTime product.

Amazon FreeTime allows parents to create a personalized experience for children on the Amazon Fire tablet, giving complete control over what content each child can access. Parents can also opt into the FreeTime Unlimited subscription for kids that offers access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, and games-all while blocking social media access and in-app purchasing so that parents don't have unwelcome surprises. Amazon FreeTime also includes best-in-class parental controls, allowing parents to set daily time limits or restrict certain categories-like games and video-while leaving unlimited time for reading.

Successful candidates will be comfortable creating and optimizing table structures, identifying KPIs that drive the business, generating reports for those KPIs that are consumed across the FreeTime organization, analyzing data to inform strategic and tactical initiatives, and writing up the findings from analyses for less-technical audiences. Strong SQL (any implementation) is a must. Scripting skills and familiarity with at least one statistics package are desirable.

This is a highly visible role that partners with our business, product management, and technical team. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

* Measuring opportunity size and performance of product features or business ventures.
* Maintaining and automating self-service and pre-determined reporting pipelines, including ETL workflows, automatic alarming, and performance tuning.
* Assisting with experimental design, evaluation, and findings across marketing, content acquisition, and product features.
* Analyzing customer and product trends to explain changes in previous performance and forecast how these trends will continue.
