Primary Responsibilities:

* Performing all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, and code development & testing
* Supporting existing system designed with Big Data technology.
* Be able to work in mainframe environment in support of modernization initiatives.
* Designing and implementing product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
* Be innovative in solution design and development to meet the needs of the business
* Working very closely with larger IT team and assisting with technical solutions
* Expected to adapt in dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decision
* Reviewing code and providing feedback relative to best practices, improving performance etc
* Drive the team and collaborate to meet timelines

Required Qualifications:

* 4 years of experience in design, development and implementation of enterprise applications using Big Data technologies
* 4 years of experience with mainframe systems using COBOL.
* 4 years working with design patterns, coding standards and performance improvements
* Familiar within an Agile/Scrum Methodology
* Understanding support tools for mainframe and Big Data technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Healthcare industry experience
* Experience with the following:
* Streaming technology i.e. Kafka
* Cloud - Open Shift
* Framework - Spring Framework, Spring Boot
* Database - NoSQL, DB2, MongoDB
* Microservice architecture
* Web Development - React, Angular
