DESCRIPTION:

Showtime Networks is growing its backend development team located here in NYC. As part of the team you'll use alternate JVM languages, continuous delivery, NoSQL, microservices, Spring Boot, and more. We are responsible for all backend support across web, iOS, tvOS, Roku, Chromecast, Android mobile, Android TV, Fire TV, Fire tablet, Samsung TVs, LG TVs, Occulus and Xbox One for Showtime's two streaming services, Showtime and Showtime Anytime. Qualities that we all share are creativity, self-motivation, and a desire develop new skills. We are a close-knit team building the future of television, and we're growing to support new platforms and new features.

This is a senior role, so the ideal candidate will be able to lend a hand to our junior developers, working them through pull requests, thorny problems and just generally guiding them as they learn the ropes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for roughly five years of hands-on development experience with Java or similar language, ideally using Spring. We test our stuff like crazy, so hopefully you think TDD is nice. Experience with other languages or tools such as Node, Kotlin, Groovy or Python gets us excited. Got an interesting hobby? We'd love to hear about that too.
