Job Description

Data quality and quantity can make or break any machine learning application. Here at OpenAI we are looking for an engineer to lead infrastructure development for dataset procurement and management for a wide variety of research projects, from creating the next ImageNet to scaling language models to new data sources. This is a core role on a team of machine learning engineers and research scientists working on some of the most cutting-edge AI projects in the field.

You will

* Own the process of finding, cleaning, curating, and storing large-scale datasets, and making them accessible for research within OpenAI
* Partner with researchers across OpenAI to understand their research and data needs
* Design reusable, scalable data infrastructure that can be applied across multiple teams
* Apply convolutional and self-attention based deep learning models for the cleaning and curation of image and text datasets - innovating and pushing the capabilities of these methods

You'll be a good fit for this role if you are

* Results-driven and enjoy working closely with a team
* Have experience building analytics pipelines from scratch on major cloud providers using a variety of open-sourced tooling
* Comfortable working with large, distributed systems
* Excited to develop and apply content-based filtering, balancing, and deduplication techniques
* Familiar with the basics of machine learning and willingness to pick up deep learning expertise
* Engaged by OpenAI's mission of building safe and beneficial artificial general intelligence
