Senior Automation Test Engineer

Job Description

Zurich is currently searching for a Senior Automation Test Engineer to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

As a key member of the Information Technology Agile DevOps Transformation and Testing team, you will play a major role in helping to ensure efficient and consistent delivery of high-quality products for our business partners and customers. Using your strong automation expertise, customer focus, and outstanding teamwork, you will help to drive test automation strategy and implementation for an exciting portfolio of products.

This position is focused on test automation including the identification, plan, and execution of automated tests which requires extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing and overseeing automated frameworks and solutions across various platforms.

Influencer Internally Focused - The job's core deliverables rely on influencing or negotiating with a range of internal clients, usually at the line manager or employee level. Relationships typically involve promoting cooperation, collaboration or acceptance.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology or Marketing in the area

OR
* High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of experience in software product management or product development area

OR
* Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 7 or more years' experience in the product management or product development area

AND
* 7 or more years of software product management or product development experience
* 5 or more years of experience in software development defining desktop and web-based applications
* Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

* 5 or more years working in test automation
* Highly proficient in high-level programming languages, such as Java/C#, Python or Object Oriented programming
* Strong hands-on experience in creating reusable quality framework for TDD/ATDD/BDD Testing, identifying design patterns and creating step definitions
* Experience working with multiple software development methodologies, including Agile DevOps Continuous Integration, and QA automation tools
* Technical expert with linear thinking skills to work at Business/Object layer
* Preferred exposure to Cloud technologies
* Successful testing and analysis track record
* Creative problem solver and analytical thinker with attention to detail
* Ability to work in team-based environment with strong verbal and written communication skills
* Results oriented
* Experience in insurance IT
