JOB SUMMARY: OUTFRONT Media is looking for a successful Senior Android Developer responsible for understanding and analyzing the detailed informational needs of the ONSmart environment as they apply to the Android-based operating system of the ONSmart LiveBoards, designing the software-based features and enhancements required to meet those needs, implementing these features and enhancements, and sustaining these capabilities in the future. The Senior Android Developer is a natural leader with a desire to win in a collaborative, team environment. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines. Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills while functioning effectively under time constraints in a dynamic environment where quality results are imperative. 8+ years' experience with C/C++ or Java. 4+ years' experience developing native Android apps for tablets. Familiarity with Android internals, embedded programming, & FOTA. Working knowledge of Linux kernel programming. Translate designs into high quality code. Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable, reliable Java code. Participate in Agile Scrum activities such as daily standups, planning sessions and review/retrospectives. Research, design, develop, and modify existing features in the Android platform. Be involved in the planning of system and development deployment and maintain responsibility for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluate the interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of the overall system. Provide expert guidance on platform. Develops systems and applications using complex algorithms to deliver business functions or architectural components. Develop system architecture that improve designs & mapping form to function. Continue to enhance and support device certification platform that is used by OEM and Vendors. Coordinate application architecture and technology initiatives to ensure adoption of proper technology for application development. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATON: Ability to work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. College degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. Goal-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail oriented and enthusiastic about the media and OOH industries.
