Location: Dallas, TX

Critical role in provide customer enterprise or solution architectures and designs for BT Security.

What you'll be doing

* Provide customer enterprise or solution architectures and designs for BT Security complex bids (multi-tower, multi-product or Cyber/Managed Security Services customer bids and/or contracts during pre-sales, transition and transformation), maintaining an end-to-end viewpoint to the benefit of both BT and the customer outcome. May support simultaneous deals/projects.
* Lead security consulting or professional services engagements with demonstrable expertise in implementing and providing customer advise on technologies such as cloud security, next generation firewall, endpoint security and network security. Vendors typically include Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco and Symantec (Bluecoat).
* Provide security knowledge on bids, professional services scoping/pre-sales or projects with a TOV up to £10m that are in multiple and complex geographies. Operating in challenging environments with new or non-standard components, complex combinations of portfolio and custom elements and non-standard SLAs
* Have responsibility for aspects of the E2E Security Architecture role with a demonstrable level of expertise and capability for

* Drive the security solution workstream activity for complex deals and be accountable for the end-to-end technical & service design, working to agreed BT processes and best practice
* Work collaboratively across BT lines of business and with external suppliers and partners to create innovative solutions
* Ensure solutions are aligned with the overall deal strategy and with the business outcomes that BT & the client are trying to achieve
* Ensure that requirements are clearly understood & documented and - where not - develop & document assumptions and decisions accordingly
* Ensure that solutions for which you are accountable have been through the relevant governance, compliance & assurance processes (with functional approvals where necessary)
* Ensure that the solution costs accurately reflect the approved solution design and that such costs have been optimised wherever possible using standard BT processes (e.g. benchmarking with Procurement)
* Work with the Security and/or MU Delivery Lead to ensure that delivery plans align with the solution design and that any key delivery risks are highlighted & understood
* Ensure that design activity is aligned with the budget, flagging potential cost over-run issues as appropriate

* Work proactively to ensure that the solutions for which you are responsible are, where possible, based predominately on standard portfolio elements & reusable propositions
* Leverage design patterns & reference architectures as appropriate for all solutioning activity
* Ensure that solutions comply with BT Security governance, compliance and assurance processes and ensure that any necessary functional approvals for the solution are received in accordance with the relevant governance processes (e.g. Security Huddle/STAR process)
* Ensure appropriate formal record keeping for the specification and design of the solution
* Ensure that the solution costs accurately reflect the approved solution design and that such costs have been optimised wherever possible using standard BT processes (e.g. benchmarking with Procurement)
* Propose, design and, where appropriate, deliver improved ways of working
* Actively contribute to organisational best practice, repositories, process and templates
* Formally capture and record appropriate learning lessons from each bid, project or assignment and share these with the team as appropriate
* Customer Engagement
* Provide the solution engagement with clients on large, complex opportunities
* Be seen by the client as applying thought leadership & innovation in the presentation of BT solutions
* Demonstrate an ability to conduct conversations covering technical, service and commercial topics with key client contacts
* Be able to comfortably interact with CxO-level contacts within the client organisation, partners, suppliers and internally within BT.
* Develop & demonstrate a strong knowledge of individual customers' business challenges and the market in which they operate.
* Growing the Business
* Work proactively with sales, account & business development teams to help develop new opportunities for BT
* Work proactively with contract & account teams to help drive growth & increase wallet-share for existing BT accounts
* Be recognised by the market unit as an enabler for and positive contributor to sales growth
* Contribute to and/or lead proposition development to exploit new markets and changing market conditions
* Be a visible contributor to capability growth initiatives
* Portfolio, Market & Industry Knowledge
* Be recognised as a subject matter expert on the BT Security portfolio and the product roadmap / strategy. Technology partners include Zscaler, Cisco, Palo Alto, Symantec (Bluecoat), Checkpoint, among others.
* Offer constructive product feedback to strengthen our portfolio
* Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the market in which BT operates
* Understand the relative competitive strengths of BT competitors globally and in specific market segments (country, region & industry)
* Mitigate competitors' advantages and leverage BT's strengths as a source of competitive differentiation when solutioning
* Understand and reference market analyst views as appropriate both internally & externally
* Actively participate in local industry events to maintain currency of knowledge in the market
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the markets in which our customers operate
* Develop industry-specific domain knowledge as required to support client engagements

Qualifications and Skills

5 - 10 years combined experience in Networking and Security Technologies

Excellent Customer Relationship Experience

Ability to lead and manage projects

Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills with experience managing virtual teams on assigned engagements delivering projects on time, on budget, on scope with high quality.
