Job Introduction:

This is a range posting and the description is posted as a Grade 17. However, candidates will be considered for Grade 16 and Grade 17 roles in the Scrum Master Job Family. The actual internal level/grade for this role will depend on the candidate's overall experience and skill level.

This role will work in the Corporate Functions - Global Finance Technology group using agile methods to deliver key technology in direct alignment with the business strategies. This team is looking to hire a Scrum Master II. This associate will oversee the planning and implementation of more than one complex projects pertaining to the delivery of timely, quality IT services and/or relate to improving business effectiveness or efficiency.

This candidate will work with two teams supporting critical Financially significant applications. Each team is just beginning its agile journey and this role will be formally trained with the teams. The position aligns to two Product Owners in Corporate Finance, each aligned to a team. Work focuses on critical activities needed to properly account for Financial activity in the enterprise general ledger, and work is driven by all SBUs and corporate areas. Corporate will be making major investments in new software in the Finance space and this role will have the opportunity to be involved in our modernization efforts. With Corporate as a whole going through its agile transformation, this position has the opportunity to help shape our agile practices. Note that although the team may not follow a formal SAFE train practice, the teams will be working closely with other agile teams across Global Finance Technology.

About the job:

* Generally lead more than one scrum team in moderate to high complexity projects. Oversee scrum process and coach the teams on how to use scrum and Agile practices and methodology.
* Facilitate transparency, inspection, and adaption.
* Lead daily scrums, sprint reviews, and planning meetings to ensure full team engagement. Manage interdependencies between agile teams.
* Work with the Product Owners to support short and long-term release planning, and to keep work backlog healthy and prepared for execution.
* Shield the teams from external interference to enable optimal functionality and productivity.
* Anticipate and address potential or actual impediments to team delivery (cultural barriers, logistic challenges).
* Mentor junior Scrum Masters and coach team members on agile practices.

Desired skills:

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.


* Minimum of 5 years' experience in agile software development including coaching on agile methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.


* Strong knowledge of agile principles and concepts.


* Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills. Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.


* Scrum certification strongly preferred.


* Experience working in a scaled agile framework preferred.


* Thorough knowledge of business functions and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives.


* Knowledge of accounting, regulatory, and actuarial processes and systems strongly desired.
