Agile Engineering, a department within Liberty Mutual Global Retail Markets US Engineering Enablement & Operations empowers the delivery of secure, stable, reliable solutions through software engineering and operational excellence.

The Quality Engineering Team is actively searching for a certified Scrum Master II. In this position, the qualified candidate will be responsible for leading, planning, managing, and directing software engineering teams to empower application teams with an emphasis on providing customer-driven solutions for Cloud and CI/CD pipeline optimization and automation. In addition, the Scrum Master is responsible for assisting with the Scrum of Scrums, quarterly planning, and using Jira for facilitating storyboards, backlogs, and day-to-day work. This team provides architectural leadership and support for modern, cloud-native software development for hundreds of development teams. The platform we build provides mission critical engineering enablement to our application teams, allowing them to create and instantly deploy new applications while taking advantage of open source enterprise-class capabilities.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with business & IT stakeholders, vendors, support, development, and test teams to determine business requirements and deliver quality solutions.
* Work with Product Owners to keep backlog healthy and prepared for execution. Maintain familiarity with team's product to assist with writing /adapting product visions and prepare for release planning.
* Mediate conflicts and remove impediments as they arise to drive continuous process improvement on the scrum team.
* Lead retrospective sessions and advocate proactive decision-making to improve team velocity.
* Administrates work management, metrics tracking, and other duties on behalf of the team.
* Train, coach, & mentor team members in regards to Agile Engineering practices.
* May provide input into staff performance evaluations and objectives.
* Works with client departments to coordinate systems testing, installation, training, and support.
* Keeps informed of advances in IT and Agile Engineering practices.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at least six, typically eight or more years related experience as a project team member of which at least two years have been in a leadership position, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
* Thorough knowledge of Agile project management concepts, practices, and techniques (Scrum Master certification required, experience with SAFe/LeSS a plus).
* Thorough knowledge of project management life cycle, methodologies, and support tools (e.g. Jira, LeanKit etc.).
* Able to manage projects from inception to successful implementation.
* Able to foster working relationships with the team and client departments.
