The Scrum Master will manage agile software development projects and other non-agile and non-software projects for educational software and curriculum products used by K-12 students and teachers.

Essential Job Functions:

* Scrum Master: Own, manage, and drive the agile software development process with the development team, test team, Product Managers, and Product Owners in all respects
* Work with the Product Managers and engineering teams to manage and groom the product backlogs of user stories, tasks, and bugs
* Manage the product backlog application (currently, Jira), including tasks such as managing users and user roles, adding new projects, managing existing projects, defining and changing workflows, defining reports, submitting support tickets to the vendor
* Project Manager: Manage related non-agile or non-software development projects as needed

Additional Job Functions:

* Work with Product Management to ensure project and product priorities are reflected in the scope of each release
* Write user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria as needed to convey customer needs to the product development and test teams
* Work with the development and test teams to refine existing user stories, bugs, and defects as needed
* Understand and manage the dependencies between the product requirements and the work of instructional designers, UX designers, curricular content creators, and development partners
* Participate as needed in customer-facing events such as focus groups and field tests
* Be an internal expert and consultant on the products features for the engineering, test, and Customer Support teams

Requirements/Qualifications:

* Scrum Master certification and experience in that role on agile software development projects
* Project Management certification and experience in waterfall software development and/or non-software projects
* Management of users, projects, and project backlogs specifically in Jira
* Software development process improvement and tailoring
* Experience working on cross-functional teams
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Instructional Design, Education, or a related field

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

* User story backlog creation and management
* Software requirements management for web-based and mobile software products, on projects with multiple teams in multiple locales, preferably for educational software sold and used in K-12 schools
