Scanning Software Engineering Manager

IPG Engineers are currently developing all aspects of laser scanning products and accessories to provide solutions for our customers. Our engineers apply their talents to the build new products and systems from scratch to mass production. These challenges allow our teams to explore opportunities that continue to push our technology forward.

This position will be responsible for managing the initial design and development of new software/firmware that controls and interfaces lasers and laser components. This person will define product requirements and create high-level architectural specifications, allowing enhanced functionality with existing and new systems/platforms. These systems require C++/C based, real-time software to hardware interfaces and system communications using various protocols. This person will manage the overall process of the design cycle from initial concept through hardware test and validation to release for manufacturing. Will work with other team members involved with electrical and mechanical design, manufacturing and operations to deliver your design to production.

Duties:

* Work with product managers to define laser scanning software product roadmap.
* Manage design and development of embedded firmware, dlls, and application software for laser products and

accessories.

* Lead the technical aspects of creating system software architecture and propose solutions which would meet system

requirements.

* Support cross-functional efforts including enhancing system performance, documentation, validation testing, and code

deployment.

* Test, deploy, maintain and enhance software releases.
* Work with other engineering and manufacturing teams on system start up, integration, and debugging.

Requirements

* MS in engineering, computer science or equivalent with 8 years or more experience in a technical leadership role in software industry.
* Working Knowledge of Microsoft C# and C++
* Self-starter
* Strong communication skills required for interaction within group, with internal customers, and R&D
* Knowledge of Patent and Intellectual Property Issues
* Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
* Willingness to travel internationally

Experience in one or more of the following areas a plus:

* Vector Graphics
* Industrial Ethernet
* Embedded Linux
* Laser Scanning Systems
* Control Systems

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22C.F.R. §120.15 are required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee. License exception Technology and software under restriction (TSR) defined in 15 CFR 740.6 may permit person from Country Group B.
