The Team:The Cognex Business Applications team provides platform, business process, and technology expertise to support our broad global SAP implementation, by designing / improving business processes, managing complex implementation projects, providing user support and training, and keeping the SAP system landscape up and running 24/7. In addition, the Business Applications team helps optimize the use of all SAP products implemented in a cost-effective manner, to support and enhance Cognex's overall success. Cognex is a young S4 Hana greenfield implementation creating an exciting environment where technical and functional skills can be utilized and enhanced.

Essential Role Functions:

* Creation of technical specifications based on functional requirements provided by the project managers / product managers / functional consultants
* Independent execution of programming to support business needs including but not limited to User Exits, BAdIs (Business Add-Ins), CDS views, Fiori tiles, Process Orchestration, Forms
* Processing of support tickets per the service level commitments in our customer agreements, including processing documentation and feedback to users
* Collaboration with Cognex's other IT teams for ticket resolution and growth in knowledge and skills
* Support of the solutions over the entire product lifecycle
* Updates to existing code in consultation with IT Process Leads and Business Process Owners

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* SAP S4 HANA
* ABAP Development
* Fiori Development / SAP UI5
* Interface programming PI/PO and RFC Connections
* Enterprise Data Integration and Migration technologies including LSMW, SQL, JSON, XSLT, XML
* Configuration of adapters including OData services, web services, IDOC, JMS, JBDC, SFTP, SOAP, Proxy, FTPS
* Integration between S4 SAP modules and applications (e.g., FI, SD, MM, QM, PM, PP, LE, APO, CO, GTS, PSM, etc.)
* ChaRM and Transport management
* Alert configuration including AIF
* Programming/scripting languages in addition to ABAP such as JAVA, Python, JavaScript
* Security standards (e.g., SAML, XACML, MASSL, OATH, OAUTH, OpenID Connect, WSTrust)

Education, work experience and other job requirements:

* 5-10 years of work experience with SAP technical design and development
* Understanding of SAP development concepts, guidelines and SAP architecture
* Deep knowledge of ERP systems in with an understanding of business processes within high tech or manufacturing industries
* Ability to communicate confidently and effectively both orally and written with functional and technical personnel; the ability to work well with people with varying degrees of technical experience
* Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
* University degree in business, engineering, information technologies or equivalent training and job experience
* Ability to develop repeatable development processes with supporting documentation
* Configuration and/or consulting experience in one of the following modules: FI, SD, MM, QM, PM, PP, LE, APO, CO, etc.) is a plus
* Project management certification is a plus
