About the department

Cloudflare has over 150 PoPs around the world that consist of thousands of bare metal servers. This fleet is solely managed by a sophisticated SaltStack configuration and supervised by the TechOps team. We are one of the largest SaltStack adopters in the world, and your role will be to own that configuration and manage the whole infrastructure at its scale.

What you'll do

* Maintaining and developing the SaltStack services and platform configuration;
* Critical decision making - Our platform is unique and every action you will take will have an impact on a lot of products;
* Educating - You will be educating every single engineer in Cloudflare, because knowledge sharing is crucial for success;
* Open Source - You will be contributing to the main SaltStack repo because we're committed on sharing our achievements with the world.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

* At least 3 years of relevant experience;
* High scale infrastructure configuration management;
* Linux system administration;
* Network services and fundamentals: HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL, DHCP, ARP, IPv6;
* Python.

This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here's the deal - we don't store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy policy and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
