The Position

Our mission in Research Software Engineering is to enable the discovery of groundbreaking

therapeutics by creating transformational software. The Translational Research and Pathology

Informatics team seeks a highly motivated individual, passionate about science, to join our team

of talented business analysts in our quest to optimize how our scientists collect, archive,

analyze and share data.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of the position include:

* Understand and conceptualize the complex information needs of our distinguished scientists, primarily in pathology and translational research.
* Document business processes into high-quality, clearly-defined workflows and data flow documentation.
* Elicit requirements and act as a liaison between scientists and software teams.
* Translate business needs into high-quality and clearly-defined software requirements for execution by our technical teams.
* Identify innovative and sustainable solutions to improve data management and business processes to address the needs of our customers.
* Define product roadmap and strategy in collaboration with customers and software engineering management.
* Work closely with key stakeholders in the business unit to define and influence the functionality of IT solutions supporting critical research processes.
* Communicate requirements and collaborate closely with our technical partners, whether in-house or vendors, to implement high quality solutions.
* Drive end-user testing activities.
* Drive change management in partnership with our customers, and drive activities increasing user adoption.
* May direct the work of contractor business analysts.

Who You Are

* You have a Bachelor degree or higher, preferably in life sciences or computer science.
* You have 5+ years experience analyzing and documenting business requirements, and communicating them to technical teams, preferably in a life sciences environment, in a role of business analyst or product owner.
* You have experience and demonstrated success working with agile teams.
* You have strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
* You have demonstrated success handling initiatives of high complexity and risk.
* You thrive in working in a complex changing environment.
* Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) preferred.
* Experience working with both custom and commercial-off-the-shelf solutions preferred.
* Knowledge of pathology and in-vivo pre-clinical research a plus.
* Wet lab experience a plus.
* You are pragmatic about the tradeoffs between features, quality, and timelines.
* You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse audiences, including customers, technical teams and management.
* You enjoy and are efficient working with a geographically and culturally diverse team and collaborators.
* You have experience in all aspects of the software development process, including requirements gathering, architecture, design, implementation, release, and maintenance.
* You have experience as an individual contributor, analyst, and leader and are comfortable performing many roles on a team.
