Job Description

Centauri is seeking a highly motivated requirements system engineer to join our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team supporting the Air Force Space and Missile Center Remote Sensing Directorate's (SMC/RS) development of missile warning and weather satellite systems. Candidate will develop and evolve the Enterprise level spacecraft and ground system requirement baselines to enable the government team to take on the role of lead system integrator. Candidate will maintain the capability definitions and criteria defined in DoD Operational Requirements Documents (ORDs), Capabilities Development Documents (CDDs) and other top level requirements documents using the Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) database. Candidate will validate existing requirements flow-down, develop new, modified, and derived requirements, perform requirements analysis, and develop associated systems engineering products to ensure compliance with approved requirements and certification standards, as specified in the program Systems Engineering Plan(s) (SEPs). Candidate shall work with the SE&I team and Government customer to update the criteria in the CDDs and Initial Operational Capability (IOC)/Full Operational Capability (FOC) Plans.

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in the following areas:

System and sub-system requirements development, verification, and validation
Validating flow-down of top level requirements to the system specifications for two-way traceability between the requirements, capabilities and capability increments
Identifying discrepancies in Enterprise to Program level and Enterprise to Element level requirements and recommend corrective actions
Identifying process deviations and performing impact analysis at the Enterprise, Program and Element levels, then presenting viable recommendations for resolution to the Government
Supporting major milestone technical and design reviews (i.e., SRR, SDR, PDR, CDR, PRR, TRR, SAR, ORR, and FRRs). This support will include defining the entry and exit criteria, and developing packages, presentation material, documentation and other work needed to ensure the Government is ready to execute the review

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Mathematics, Business or other related technical discipline
Minimum of 8 years of experience with at least one year in support of space programs
Experience managing requirements using DOORS
Must be a strong, proactive individual who takes the initiative to identify, own, and solve problems
Must have the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
Must have superior interpersonal, written, and communications skills with the ability to interface with different personalities in a range of positions, including many at very senior levels
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to independently execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment

Desired Skills:

Advanced Degree in Science, Engineering, Math, or Business
AF Space Overhead Persistent Radar (OPIR) and Space-Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) mission area experience
Experience with USAF Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) processes, procedures & compliance documents
Understanding of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles
Understanding of DoD acquisition life-cycle policies, processes and milestones
Familiarity with Cost Analysis Requirements Description (CARD) documentation

Security Requirements: Active Top Secret (Top Secret/SCI preferred) Clearance Required
