Release/Change Manager

Location: Bellevue, WA

Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Description:

* The Release/Change Manager will need to have core competencies in Release/Change Management and Configuration Management. They will manage the release/change process for both our application's team and client Infrastructure; along with managing our server and application data for CMDB.

Business Group & Key Projects:

Candidate work with multiple teams in the organization to identify and track key metrics, manage risks and open issues, communicate status to team members and customers. The ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously will be essential.

The team is working on a projected called Build Customers 4 Life (BC4L) & SAP client Operations (ITSM)

Typical Day in the Role:

Software Release process responsibilities include driving release execution throughout the lifecycle of the release. Releases encompass multiple services delivery for a hybrid SAAS and On-Premise solution. The ideal candidate can work with DevOps teams as well as Service Management Managers to define and manage the release schedule while minimizing risks and ensuring release and live site quality. The ideal candidate can balance the release schedules and dependencies while delivering on business goals.

Configuration Management duties include managing our CMDB. The Release Manager is responsible for making sure that both the application and server CMDB is kept up to date by working with various owners throughout client.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and management skills and be able to engage across teams working to drive to meaningful solutions.

Candidate Requirements:

The primary responsibilities for the Release/Change Manager position include:

* Develop and Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners.
* Identify release scope and ensure release packages compatibilities with each other.
* Identify and track key metrics.
* Communicate schedule, activities and status.
* Manage multiple releases simultaneously.
* Track and communicate release issues & risks.
* Help resolve critical cross-group technical or project issues as they impact the release.
* Create release documentation and communication.
* Ensure all Release documentation is finalized at the release sign-off.
* Identify and implement improvements in the current release process with the Senior Release Manager.
* Build effective relationships with engineering leaders and key stakeholders.
* Interact with other organizations and functional teams to identify and coordinate dependencies between systems and to determine release requirements in pre/in/post release phases.
* Work with various stakeholders to maintain our CMDB.

Release/Change Manager:

* The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and management skills and be able to engage across teams working to drive to meaningful solutions. You'll work with multiple teams in the organization to identify and track key metrics, manage risks and open issues, communicate status to team members and customers. The ability to manage multiple releases simultaneously will be essential.

Interaction with Service Management:

* Facilitate knowledge transfer.
* Provide release documentation (release notes, release schedules).
* Enable service management to asses risk in production.
* Ensure that the release process complies with all certifications.
* Ensure our CMDB is up to date with various stakeholders.

Interaction with DevOps and Project Management:

* Ensure the release notes are kept up to date and reflect the release scope.
* Ensure all the milestones are achieved before a release is put in production.
* Ensure all the services & components are signed off on time.
* Ensure that the current state of the release items are categorized and accurate (test complete, test incomplete, automation verified, etc)

Interaction with Production Deployment Operations:

* Ensure production deployment happens according to the release schedule and the production deployment plan.
* Manage mitigations and/or backup plan in case of issues.

Interaction with Configuration Management:

* Ensure all the packages for the signed off services & components are created and ready for handoff to Production Deployment Operations.

Client participates in E-Verify to confirm work authorization.
