Job Description

Role Summary:

Avitas Systems is building the future of asset integrity management through robotic inspection and cutting-edge analytics. The Platform team is responsible for building products that help the Analytics team scale the analytics engine, operations team collect and ingest inspection data and help the customers consume the inspection data and data from the analytics engine using the Platform's user interface.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer on the Platform team who is passionate about building user interfaces that are clean, efficient, performant and a joy to use.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Implement beautiful frontend experiences that are performant and fun to use


* Solve difficult front-end engineering problems


* Mentor and level up fellow engineers on the team through code reviews and architecture discussions


* Represent your team in frontend engineering discussions with other teams


* Take ownership of features by ensuring test coverage, adherence to best practices, and guiding long-term architecture



Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in computer science from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution with 7 years of hands-on experience building frontend web applications)


* Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience building frontend web applications



Desired Characteristics:

* In depth experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and at least one modern JavaScript framework (preferably ReactJS)


* Experience shipping user-facing products


* Strong written and verbal communication skills


* Experience collaborating with product managers, designers and other engineering leaders in cross-functional groups


* Experience with React, Redux, NodeJS


* Experience creating reusable UI components


* Experience with Git, CI tools


* Experience with the PolymerJS library


* Experience automating UI Testing using a testing framework


* Experience with Jenkins Pipeline, Docker


* Experience publishing packages to NPM


* Testing tools: Jest, Storybook, Enzyme, @testing-library/react
