Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The QA Test Engineer develops test cases based on requirements and specifications, executes test cases, documents, troubleshoots and isolates issues, works with Software Engineers to reproduce and resolve issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

* Develop and update test cases and plans
* Execute test cases
* Document defects using Jira and assist troubleshooting issues as necessary
* Work with developers and project managers to resolve issues
* Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous, collaborative and professional manner
* Exercise sound business judgment
* Conform and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
* Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
* Other duties as needed or required

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Solid understanding of QA methodologies and techniques
* Strong manual black box / grey box testing skills
* Experience testing eCommerce and system applications
* Experience testing a range of mobile technologies including but not limited to Android, iOS and Windows
* Experience using tools such as Charles Proxy, Fiddler, defect tracking tools such as Jira etc.
* Basic understanding of web technologies and databases
* Ability to write and execute SQL queries
* Cross-browser compliant testing
* Be able to communicate productively and effectively with all team members and customers, both in writing and verbally
* 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of testing various technologies such as Web, iOS and Android Apps, PC and Mac based applications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform assigned tasks

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

* Knowledge of test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Puppeteer etc.
* Experience generating test coverage reports
* Experience in system level testing, testing of Firmware components, system upgrades etc.
* Experience in designing and building test cases from requirements specifications
* Masters degree is desirable
