Job Description

We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual who exhibits natural leadership, a passion for excellence, enjoys mentoring other technical staff, and has a relentless desire for achieving results. The QA Manager will manage, mentor, and provide technical leadership to a team of 6 QA engineers; and guide the delivery of products which are bug free and work seamlessly as intended. Will drive quality excellence and project lifecycle management. We believe in leadership at all levels - we expect people to step up, own, and lead in their areas. Responsibilities Include:

Quality Excellence

* Lead in the development and execution of soundly designed and scalable QA strategy


* Drive QA standards, practices, and overall quality excellence.


* Master the product portfolio in order to lead an informed quality strategy.


* Develop relationships with other teams and departments to understand the business & quality challenges


* Help the team, the product, and the business evolve through innovation.


* Drive the continuous improvement of our flagship solution, DIRECTOR.


* Capture all forms of knowledge (product, processes, plans, results).


* Present test results & recommendations to stakeholders


* Collaborate with Product Management & Product Owners to ensure on time delivery of quality products.


* Take ownership of issues/blockers and collaborate to drive to prompt resolution


* Continuously improve QA practices & processes by identifying improvement areas, collaborating with other teams to achieve buy-in, and methodically implement.


* Drive for quality and predictability through strict adherence to the definition of done, unit testing, and other engineering and Agile best practices.


* Provide technical mentorship to the team.



Project Lifecycle Management

* Manage/support the lifecycle of the projects engineered by the team


* Champion Agile & Scrum


* Leverage metrics and KPIs to gain insight and drive action


* Be an active champion of the Agile/Scrum methodology among the team.


* Mentor team members to ensure buy in and adherence to the best QA & agile practices


* Support/run various project/Scrum events (Sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, etc…).


* Capture and publish team KPIs.


* Continuously study the Quality industry's use of Agile, best practices, emerging trends, and techniques.


* Ensure that the team meets its commitments



Leadership

* Ensure associates understand how their role contributes to the achievement of the Teletrac Navman business plans through the communication of ideas, thoughts and information


* Build and maintain a high performing team through the demonstration of effective leadership (e.g. open communication, trust, leading by example, motivating, etc.)


* Contribute effectively to the leadership team working collaboratively with others


* Create an environment that encourages open communication and trust in which associates are motivated and achieve objectives.


* Lead through FBS (Fortive Business System)



Management

* Establish short-term and mid-term plans and optimise resources to ensure that team objectives are consistently met


* Effectively use HR approaches and tools to select, develop, motivate, reward and retain your team


* Reward and recognize employees who contribute to the achievement of Teletrac Navman business goals both formally and informally


* Always offer constructive criticism and seek solutions to problems and issues


* Work with the team to enhance their industry knowledge



Qualifications:

Desired Proficiencies:

* 10 Years of Experience in QA.


* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a related field


* Certified Scrum Master


* ISTQB (or equivalent) certified


* Experience with Microsoft TFS / VSTS


* Knowledge of Microsoft Test Manager / Test Hub


* Familiarity with restful API based automation (E.g. Postman) & UI based automation (E.g. Coded UI/Selenium)


* Scripting languages such as Python & Javascript


* Establishing and maintaining a Test Lab


* In-field / bench hardware test experience


* Familiarity with network technologies such as LTE and HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Blue Tooth


* Knowledge of networking fundamentals and familiarity with data packet protocols



Soft-skills required:

* 5 years managing and coaching a staff of QA engineers.


* Able to grow and strengthen teams, recognize individuals and their traits, and knowing how to maximize their effectiveness.


* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


* Strong leadership and business acumen.


* Great organizational and time-management skills, including an ability to estimate project completion times.


* Excellent Agile and project management skills.


* Properly assess and meet business needs in a professional and courteous manner.
