Responsibilities

NBCUniversal, in Universal City, CA is seeking a Project Specialist to support the Media Operations Project Manager with all project initiatives in the Operations & Technology division. This includes helping to support project meetings with note taking, updates to project plans and action logs, and documenting best practices. The Specialist will also support the different project initiatives including, but not limited to, content migrations and new system stand-ups, with the initial focus on completing a large library migration.

The Project Specialist is responsible for:

* Supporting the Director, Strategic Program Management, WC Strategic Program Management Project Manager(s) and the Fulfillment Operation with:
* Providing functional project management support in areas of transition, collects and analyzes data and prepares project materials.
* Providing support by tracking milestones and completion of tasks and following up on outstanding matters.
* Assisting with managing and controlling scope creep with a change management plan that evaluates and priotitizes all changes to the plan.
* Assisting with administering technical and administrative projects and initiatives; work with technical leads, stakeholders and subject matter experts.
* Participating in planning implementation tasks, including training
* Updates to existing project plans and action logs.
* Assisting in setting up new project plans, action logs, issues lists, and workflow charts.
* Documenting best practices.
* Maintaining all project documentation, making sure it's organized and easily accessible.
* Assisting with project presentations
* Taking lead on Studio Defect Tracking initiative by coordinating across facilities and reporting up to leadership and Quality team for reliability metrics.
* Taking lead on management of smaller projects and workflow efficiency initiatives.



Qualifications/Requirements

High energy level and strong organizational skills

3+ yrs experience in a fast paced environment requiring troubleshooting and process skills, and exhibiting an ability to effectively prioritize and adapt to changing scenarios

2+ yrs experience in a broadcast, post production or digital media prep environment

Strong attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills

Effectively flexible in approach, and responds well to pressure

A track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations

Desired Characteristics

BA/BS in related field

2+ yrs experience exhibiting overall understanding and knowledge of the video post-production process, media operations, and/or digital video deliveries for broadcast

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, detail oriented and motivated team player

Prior experience using media technology library and workflow systems a plus

Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment

A team player, who is always respectful, follows rules and policy, has good communication skills, and maintains a positive attitude
