Job Description

We currently seek a very strong Project Scheduler with exceptional MS Project experience for a large IT program in central Washington, DC.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

* -Candidates must have proven experience with project scheduling (MS-Project), critical path analysis, and action item tracking across multiple projects
* -This is a mid-level/senior position focused on scheduling; not suited to senior-level project managers, program managers, Scrum masters, etc.
* -Primary responsibility is to help administer the program, track action items for projects within the program, and conduct various scheduling tasks for the program and its multiple projects
* -Very strong organizational skills, as well as a highly efficient and effective communicator, is essential
* -Must have experience with MICROSOFT PROJECT and using this tool for scheduling purposes
* -Must be strong with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint)
* -Experience with SharePoint is a PLUS, NOT a must-have
* -Bachelor's Degree is required.

Position Profile:

* Supports project managers by developing and maintaining program schedules and resource plans.
* Assists in defining consistent work breakdown structure and milestones across multiple projects within a program.
* Interacts with project managers and project teams to capture and update progress against plan.
* Maintains resource plans across projects for the program. Identifies, communicates and resolves resource bottlenecks with project managers and resource leaders.
* Analyzes critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommends work-around.
* Evaluates project schedule progress and identifies developing problem areas.
* Runs and distributes short interval schedule reports by resource.
* Leverages and extends existing templates to ensure consistency and repeatability using established project management tools.
* Performs Monte Carlo or similar project critical path assessment to define confidence interval for program delivery.
* Tracks and updates program documentation.
* Maintains program action items, issues, decision logs.
* Tracks program risks and ensures consistent progress on risk mitigation through coordination with risk owners.
* Maintains program SharePoint site.
* Arranges standing and ad hoc meetings. Captures and distributes meeting minutes.
* Updates key project documents including program charter, communications plan, benefits realization and others throughout the life of the program.

Education & Experience Requirements:

* BA/BS degree
* Prior experience in the government contracting industry creating/managing project schedules, WBS, etc.
* MS-Project expertise (minimum of 4+ years)
* Experience interfacing with customers and technical leads
* Prior project financial experience is a plus
