Job Description

Position: IT Project Manager

Location: Suitland, MD

* must be a US Citizen to meet contract requirements

Summary:The IT Project Manager will support the Census ADCOM (Associate Director for Communications) organization as a advisor to the Government PM. This position will not be managing a project nor a staff.

Responsibilities:

* Provide strategic support and analysis at various Program meetings focused on numerous project management and/or technical issues
* Meet with and interview technical leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to collect information to populate various Program and Project Artifacts. (Project Schedule, Project Management Plan, Budget Management Plan, Change Management Plan, Program Charter, Governance Plan, etc.)
* Review current Program artifacts and update with the latest PMBOK principles, Federal best practices, and Federal / Department of Commerce guidance
* Implement and perform the necessary quality checks to ensure that all program and project deliverables are polished and error free.
* Collaborate with Government Program leadership, technical experts, and project managers to ensure timely and accurate performance status input
* Develop reporting processes, collect information, and provide recommendations to Program leadership regarding project status, risks, issues, and other topics
* Facilitate meetings with Government staff
* Track, measure, report, and communicate project status
* Support data calls, perform related analysis, and develop reports
* Maintain a customer-service focus to exceed customer expectations

Requirements:

* Prior work supporting a Project Management Office preferred
* Strong understanding of project management (PMI) concepts and experience applying the concepts to a program or project
* Experience developing Program Artifacts and documents
* Experience supporting Government clients
* Experience on an Federal Agile System Development project preferred
* In-depth understanding of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) preferred
* Have strong communication skills, both written and spoken
* Work as part of a team or independently to complete tasks
* Experience with CHAT-BOT Technology a plus
* US citizenship required

Experience/Education:

* Master's Degree with at least 7 years of relevant work experience; or 10 years of relevant work experience with Bachelor's degree.
* 5 years of experience applying Project Management tools and concepts
* Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification required
