Job Description

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Project Delivery Manager, Core Business Operations, Systems Engineering in Los Angeles, CA and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You'll Do

Designing, implementing, and operating solutions for custom-developed systems, platform integration, and application modernization to enable core business capabilities. Managing day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors. Managing and delivering components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. Responsibilities include, managing teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures. Developing and maintaining contact with top decision makers at key clients. Participating and leading aspects of the proposal development process. Contributing to the development of proposal pricing strategies. Performing role of counselor and coach; actively participating in staff recruitment and retention activities. Providing leadership and supporting for delivery teams and staff in local offices. Performing assessments of existing information systems, and identifying gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities. Estimating time and resources needed for the development work. Functioning as integrators between business needs and technology solutions, helping to create technology solutions to meet clients' business needs. Defining systems strategy, developing system requirements, processing design, prototyping, and testing custom technology solutions, and supporting system implementation. Creating project charters, schedules, and plans, defining project tasks, allocating resources and monitor project progress. Writing functional and technical system requirements and use cases, creating process flow diagrams and finalizing system requirements. Performing conceptual and technical designs, including the use of object-oriented analysis and design techniques. Tracking application defects using defect tracking tools, coordinating defect resolution efforts, and documenting resolution details. Identifying and recording key deadlines for the workstream in the client engagement to ensure clear communication, organization, and coordination between multiple parties, and constructing a work plan around them that will quickly and effectively achieve client goals whilst also allowing for reasonable work time and unexpected delays or pivots. Managing the service transition from ERP Implementation team to Application Management Services team coordinating with offshore counterparts. Using TSO commands, shortcuts, Time Sharing Option, and Interactive System Productivity Facility, and File Manager proficiently to create and modify VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) KSDS (Key-Sequenced Data Set), PDS (partitioned data set), PS (Physical Sequential) and GDG (Generation Data Groups). Setting up new JCLs (Job Control Languages) to unit test the new programs and using the PARM/COND parameter in the JCLs to handle client requirements appropriately. Developing new JCL jobs and procedures and executing them in newly created job streams in TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) with the COBOL batch programs, in order to test the client's production data. Creating new DB2 tables to be accessed in the COBOL programs and testing the data insert, and updating and deleting functions by creating SQL codes (Structured Query Languages) in the programs. Identifying issues during unit testing, running them through IBM Debugger tool whenever they are difficult to resolve and keeping checkpoints at critical intervals to find the root cause of the issues. Handing over the developed code to the SQA (Software Quality Assurance) groups for User Acceptance Testing. Carrying out production deployment activities and providing warranty support in order to resolve any production data issues and job abends.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), CIS, MIS or a related field.


* Five years of progressively responsible experience as a Technical Lead, Programmer Analyst, System Analyst, Module Lead, Technology Analyst or a position in a related occupation.


* Must have five years of experience with:
* Using TSO commands, shortcuts, Time Sharing Option, and Interactive System Productivity Facility, and File Manager proficiently to create and modify VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) KSDS (Key-Sequenced Data Set), PDS (partitioned data set), PS (Physical Sequential) and GDG (Generation Data Groups);


* Setting up new JCLs (Job Control Languages) to unit test the new programs and using the PARM/COND parameter in the JCLs to handle client requirements appropriately;
