The Microsoft Capacity, Supply Chain, and Provisioning (CSCP) group is an exciting and fast evolving engineering group within Microsoft. CSCP's vision is to Empower Customers to Achieve More by Delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver Capacity for all Cloud Services Predictably through Intelligent Systems driven by Continuous Learning and a World Class Organization. The organization is responsible for Microsoft's Customer cloud promise of delivering on Elasticity and Scale at Optimal Cost and Speed. We cover all Microsoft Online Services, supporting over 200 businesses including Bing, O365, OneDrive, Xbox and Microsoft Azure branded services.

The Cloud Capacity Planning organization within CSCP has an opening for a world-class Project Manager to join our team to help build one of the world's largest networks. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills to model, analyze, and use data to formulate and drive a sound networking hardware plan for an assigned portfolio, and deliver a holistic solution that meets all engineering, cost and customer requirements. Must be able to work independently and across teams, have strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, effective communication skills and the desire to educate others.

The candidate should be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, highly team-oriented, tenacious and focused on results. Among your many attributes you have a working understanding of servers, networks, and data center operations.

* 4-8 years of work experience in data centers, consulting or supply and capacity planning.
* BA/BS degree in Technology, Engineering, or Supply chain or equivalent practical experience, MS/MBA preferred

Preferred:

* Understanding of network infrastructure, experience in network hardware planning strongly preferred
* Experience in program management, managing large-scale, dynamic technical projects
* Highly motivated; self-starter; drive for results
* Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
* Firm sense of accountability and ownership for end-to-end program management; and the highest standards of business, ethics, and discretion, and confidentiality
* Prior supply chain or network capacity planning /data center operations analytics experience is highly valued

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Interface with cross-functional teams that are key stakeholders in planning hardware capacity including teams across Capacity Planning, Supply Planning, as well as DC, NW and Server Operations
* Create network hardware forecasts for an assigned portfolio that support engineering requirements, business needs, and sourcing specifications, while working across multiple internal teams to drive projects to completion.
* Build data-driven tools to analyze and optimize network hardware capacity
* Help define next generation planning processes and tools to scale with Microsoft's growth
* Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment
* Strong technical aptitude with excellent visual and verbal communication skills with ability to influence business and technical decision makers
* Build relationships, gain consensus, remove tension/roadblocks and focus on the solution
* Be independent and thorough in examination and analysis, alongside results oriented
