Job Description

Would you like to join a team focused on producing high-quality technical documentation for Amazon Web Services (AWS)? Are you passionate about producing the cutting-edge content necessary to maintain Amazon as the premier player in cloud computing and web services technology?

The Solutions Architecture Technical Content team has an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager who will support production of technical documentation. The Program Manager applies project management best practices to make the team more efficient, resolve blocking problems, and facilitate delivery of results.

Amazon is deeply committed to be a leader in the web services marketplace, and one of the key measures of success is how well we support the vibrant community that consumes AWS products. Our global content team plays a vital role in providing thought leadership internally and externally to the broader ecosystem (including our customers), and making sure that the details of our products are clearly described, as well as easy to consume and follow.

The ideal candidate has an obsession with details that is nearly as strong as their Customer Obsession. Their communication skills and background enable them to interact effectively with Solutions Architects (SA), Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and Technical Writers. In addition, they have experience with editorial workflows/operations and a demonstrated ability to drive action when the next steps might not be black-and-white.

Note: This is an entry-level role with a heavy project-management and administrative focus.

Key Responsibilities

* Monitor in-flight content projects to respond to queries, provide process guidance to stakeholders, maintain accurate workflow statuses, and escalate problems when necessary.
* Monitor incoming requests to ensure completeness of submissions, adherence to metadata and reporting conventions, and communication of next steps to requesters.
* Coordinate handoffs of content projects to stakeholder teams, such as localization.
* Assist in grooming the backlog for the editorial scrum.
* Maintain parity between internal project trackers.
* Maintain internal process documentation.
* Identify ways to improve team efficiency and propose solutions to optimize previously defined business processes.
