Position Summary:

The Production System Engineer will maintain and troubleshoot all software and hardware for the entire Post Production infrastructure at HBO.

Responsibilities:

* Maintain and troubleshoot all of HBO's Production virtual and physical infrastructure
* Act as L1 support for all service tickets
* Create and maintain internal technical documentation and articles hosted on internal Confluence based on issues reported

Requirements:

* College degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience
* At least 5 years professional experience in a similar capacity
* Strong technical and operational understanding of
* Windows, Mac OS and Linux Operating Systems
* Remote deployment of Windows and MacOS images
* Full suite of VMWare software (ESXi, vCenter, Horizon, UEM and UAG)
* Nonlinear editing software (Adobe Creative Suite and Avid Media Composer)
* Production Asset Management (Avid Interplay and Avid Web Services)
* Post production storage using Avid NEXIS, Oracle ZFS and PURE Flash storage
* Encoding software like Root6 Content Agent & ColorFront
* Video formats, baseband routing and SDVN standards such as SMPTE 2110 and NMOS



Knowledge of

* Basic scripting including PowerShell
* Networking concepts including routing, subnetting etc… to be able to troubleshoot issues at the workstation level.
* Relational databases including SQL Server
* Production Archive solutions/storage including Oracle DIVA and Spectra Verd
* Candidates must possess excellent written/verbal communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD and Visio is required.
* Must be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements and schedules and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and adeptness at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across HBO.
