Product Designer - Oculus for BusinessDesign & User Experience | Seattle, WA

Join a team of designers who are passionate about creating a cutting-edge VR experience and establishing Oculus as an industry leader. This role will be focused on business use cases, working on the leading edge of how VR and AR can define the future of work for collaboration, training, and utility.

As a Product Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from conceptualizing of the VR platform to designing incremental features. Working with Product Management and Engineering teams, you'll tackle hard questions relating to core interactions, product direction, and user interface patterns for VR today and for the future. You will be expected to use your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will own a wide area of the Oculus for business experience.

Responsibilities

* You'll be responsible for designing, researching, prototyping, and implementing features for future for product set
* You'll work with and get feedback from the Design, Engineering and Product management teams at Oculus
* Synthesize broad and ambiguous business requirements and accomplish them through design
* Help establish preliminary processes to align cross-functional teams
* Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Design, Product and Executive teams
* Design end-to-end flows and visuals and individually contribute to the product and feature set
* Give and solicit real time feedback from other designers to continually raise the quality and craftsmanship of the product
* Partner with PMs, engineers, researchers, content strategist & QA, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch - as well as post-launch design support


* You must be able to:
* - Quickly solve issues with your cross-functional leads
* - Clearly articulate design decisions to a set of internal stakeholders
* - Step back and help build product strategy - thinking beyond just incremental features
* - Advocate for product design within the Oculus company and throughout Facebook
* - Thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments

Minimum Qualifications

* Experience with designing and experience leading in cross-functional environments
* 5+ years of experience in shipping software products
* Experience on mobile and or desktop operating systems
* Experience developing system level components such as icon library, animation library etc.
* Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods for user research, including A/B testing frameworks
* Experience thinking about product strategy and vision (not just 'how it should look' but 'what we should build and why')
* A portfolio featuring examples of both visual and interaction work
* Experience communicating ideas and designs to multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with emerging technologies such as VR/AR
* Experience with business and enterprise products
* 3D experience
* Proven technical ability, including the ability to script interactive prototypes and define new workflows
* Motion design and animation skills
