Description

SAIC is seeking a procurement, logistics, and inventory administrator on the OMES II contract in support of the integration and test campaign of the Restore-L program in the Satellite Servicing Projects Division (SSPD) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. This position is located in Greenbelt, MD.

The Restore-L mission is a Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Satellite Servicing Project Division (SSPD) managed mission. Restore-L is a robotic servicing mission designed to refuel a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. It contains 3 elements: the Flight Element comprised of the Restore-L Servicing Vehicle (RSV) and development testbeds, the Ground Element comprised of the systems required to conduct RSV operations and the supporting networks and facilities, and the Launch Element comprised of the Launch Vehicle and supporting facilities and services. The SSPD is responsible for the design, engineering, development, test and operations of the Restore-L Mission through an integrated team at GSFC. The Servicing Payload design, development and RSV integration will be conducted at GSFC.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The administrator will provide procurement, logistics, and inventory management support for the Restore-L Integration and Test subsystem. The Restore-L I&T subsystem performs the integration and test of all Restore-L hardware including the servicing payload and spacecraft bus.

Job duties include:

* Support the integration and test of all Restore-L subsystems
* Coordinate I&T logistics - movement of equipment within or between facilities and maintenance of hardware records including flight hardware, engineering unit hardware, test hardware, tools, and supplies
* Management of tool calibration and maintenance of tool calibration records and out of tolerance documentation
* Supply and tool purchasing, management, delivery, and associated documentation management
* Inventory management (tools, supplies, shop consumables, frozen polymers, chemicals, etc.) and inventory record keeping
* Troubleshooting and resolution of logistics or inventory-related issues
* Maintenance of building access records and tracking of access requests
* Ensure that the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the I&T technical documentation, reports, and deliverables comply with NASA and Restore-L standards, project plans, and policies
* Support logistics for environmental testing
* Work in lab and cleanroom facilities near hardware, ground support equipment, and test equipment

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related experience
* Very strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities
* Proficiency in resolving technical and schedule issues in order to ensure that deliverables are met on schedule
* Ability to assess complex issues, recommend resolution to the team and management, and implement resolutions
* Ability to comply with all NASA and Restore-L quality assurance, configuration management, and safety policies and procedures
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a large team
* Excellent critical thinking skills

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

* Experience with documentation and record management
* Experience with inventory management
* Knowledge of and experience with NASA quality assurance, configuration management, and safety policies and procedures
* Proficiency in exercising discretion and independent judgment in evaluating potential approaches and solutions to critical problems and determining appropriate resolutions
* Proficiency in recommending deviations from established policies and procedures
* Ability to attend to assignments with only limited direction
