Principal Systems Engineer

Principal Systems Engineer for Ademco, Inc. in Melville, NY

Responsibilities:

Deliver end-to-end technical solutions for Honeywell Home Security product offerings. Leverage technical skills and conceptualize total product solutions taking into account customer needs, cost, schedule and performance. Participate with product marketing in Voice of Customer (VoC), understand customer needs, and provide input on marketing requirements and critical to quality features. Utilize a range of technologies and apply modern technical tools to diverse, often difficult-to-define problems and requirements. Author end to end system requirements (functional and non-functional) and convert system requirements into logical subsystems and components. Develop and review high level subsystem designs and interface specifications, and support integration testing. Participate in domain/technology specific working groups. Explore identification and applications of new technologies into products through Proof of Concepts. Effectively present information to diverse audiences such as development teams, executive management, customers, and other stakeholders. Mentor other team members.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in stated fields and seven (7) years of specified experience. Full term of experience must include: end-to-end product development; requirements management; evaluating technical solution feasibility; defining and conceiving Non Functional Requirements; defining architecture and design to meet scalability, performance, and security requirements; developing and reviewing interface specifications and supporting integration testing; working in an Agile development environment. Up to 10% travel required.
