Principal Software Engineer, Marketing Systems

Framingham, MA

Position Description: Develop software applications that run on Java and database platforms. Design, develop and integrate restful APIs & web services. Participate in an Agile development team working on medium to large sized projects. Work closely with business to convert requirements into software applications. Understand the existing systems by using support documents as well as code and take over support and maintenance activities related to those systems. Develop discrete software modules which work seamlessly with other software integrations. Provide technical design for development to be done in house or offshore. Proactively tune long running processes and back end job. Provide innovative solutions for process improvements. Work with vendor partners and offshore teams to ensure timely delivery of projects. Position is fixed location based in Framingham, MA however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed.

Qualifications

Required Experience/Skills: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field plus five (5) years of experience developing applications in web technologies. Experience must include:

Five (5) years of experience in the following: (experience may be gained concurrently)

* Solid understanding of software engineering frameworks, tools and processes


* Three (3) years in each of the following: (experience may be gained concurrently)


* Java or .NET technologies


* RESTful and SOAP web services and usage


* Object oriented design


* Two (2) years in each of the following: (experience may be gained concurrently)


* Ability to script using various Unix shells


* Oracle
