Job Summary

The Federal Principal Engineer is responsible for all aspects related to the technical operation of the program products or services.

Job Description

* Oversee all engineering throughout the lifecycle to insure adherence to the Level 3 and customer policies and procedures.


* Works with all stakeholders to develop and maintain the process for configuration control and release, this includes monitoring the day to day activities to identify and notify the team of risk related to the implementation of new network elements and changes.


* Resolve complex network or network related issues.


* Perform regular evaluations of the products offered and make recommendations leading to continual service improvement.



Qualifications

Education and Experience

* Experience: 7+ yrs


* Education Level: Bachelor's Degree


* Field Of Study: Technical Discipline


* Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.


* Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.



Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

* 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in a network engineering position.


* Proven experience and success with LAN/WAN design, operation and implementation.


* Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.


* Strong hands on technical knowledge of network components.


* Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and internet standards.


* Proven hardware troubleshooting experience.


* Application support experience.


* Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.


* CCNA, CCNP, CISSP certifications, a plus.


* Knowledge of NIST SP800-53, SP800-37, SP800-137 Documents and Practices.


* Highly self-motivated and directed.


* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.


* Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.


* Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
