Senior Architect

Calypso Technology is seeking highly motivated and innovative individuals to join our core Architecture Team. This role will include contributing to the evolution of our cloud-native, microservices-based architecture delivering our large-scale capital markets application on the cloud to support global trading on multiple asset classes, trade processing and risk management.

Responsibilities:

* Development and support of continuous development and integration pipelines for a globally distributed engineering organization and operations organization.
* Development of Java-Based framework libraries enabling application teams to quickly build REST based microservices with support for REST API definition, documentation and supporting persistence, audit, messaging, service discovery and configuration.
* Design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure through automation scripts to host distributed set of microservice including support for service discovery, load balancing, authentication and authorization as well as elastic scalability.
* Supporting global engineering organization by providing training, documentation and enforcement of frameworks and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

* 10+ years of development experience developing production grade, multi-threaded, enterprise client/server systems on the JVM.
* Deep understanding of system quality attributes such as high availability, scalability, performance, security, resiliency, disaster recovery and multi-tenancy.
* 2+ years of experience with public cloud infrastructure provisioning through automation scripts such as CloudWatch, Azure Resource Manager Templates or Terraform.
* 2+ years of experience supporting production environments on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
* Experience with common Java frameworks including Spring Boot/Data, ORM Solutions, JPA, JMS, Distributed Caching, Gradle.
* Basic experience with a leading front-end Java-Script framework such as React, Angular, VueJS.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Take pride in your work and have a high bar in the finished product.
* BS or MS in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
