Position Summary

The role of the Primary Support Engineer, Salesforce is to increase the value of Salesforce investments. The position has the responsibility for researching solutions, troubleshooting bugs, and enhancing the functionality of Salesforce to meet business requirements. The role requires deep expertise in declarative (e.g. Formula Fields) & programmatic (e.g. Apex, Visualforce) approaches to Salesforce customization, usage of the AppExchange, good grasp of Salesforce Administration, and solid understanding of CRM concepts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Serve as a trusted advisor, drive conversations with our customers' enterprise architects and business stakeholders armed with best practices for enterprise architecture functions such as security, performance, development process, and application governance
* Drive the creation of application and technical design documents which leverage Salesforce best practices and effectively integrate Salesforce into the customer's infrastructure
* Solve complex issues using troubleshooting methodologies combined with expert knowledge of Salesforce applications
* Work closely with end users to assess business requirements, support change, and deliver consistently high quality customer experience
* Develop application fixes for critical issues with declarative (Workflows, Approvals, Formulas, etc…) and programmatic tools (Apex Classes, Triggers, Visualforce, Lightning, etc…) in Salesforce
* Manage customer expectations; negotiate solutions to complex problems with both the customer and third-party partners
* Proactively research, present and make recommendations regarding new features made available with each Salesforce release
* Perform review of code in collaboration with administrators, to ensure long term viability & integrity
* Make recommendations for enhancements and modifications to improve system performance, efficiency and reporting
* Collaborate with team members in a virtual team environment to extend field experience to different geographies
* Contribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the end user experience
* Be a pro-active contributor to a 24x7x365 running support organization, this will require working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and monitoring email regularly outside standard business hours

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Education

* Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

Minimal Qualifications

* Platform Developer I Certification
* Platform Developer II Certification
* Platform App Builder Certification
* Experience in Lightning Web Components
* Experience in integration tools like Dell Boomi and Mulesoft

Experience

* Minimum combined 10 years development experience with CRM applications with 5+ years of hands-on development with Salesforce
* 5+ years of Salesforce development in a corporate environment using programmatic approaches.
* Deep expertise of Salesforce architecture, Salesforce best practices, and CRM business concepts.
* Experience with Post Production Managed Services and Support

Skills

* Hands on Development with Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills - verbal & written. Ability to communicate at business level with stakeholders and technical level with developers.
* Practical knowledge of APIs to integrate Salesforce with other data sources.
* Deep knowledge of declarative approaches to Salesforce customization methodologies including custom objects, relationships, formulas, validation rules, and process automation.
* Expertise in customization of Salesforce1 mobile app.
* Superb trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving.
* Strong knowledge of key application functionality, data security, and relationships.
* Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
* Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations.
* The ability to work effectively from a home based office in a virtual environment.

Desired Qualifications

* Integration Architecture Designer Certification
* Certified Sharing and Visibility Designer
* A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful
* 2+ years of experience in DevOps environment
