Join the Medtronic Systems Engineering team in designing a connected ecosystem of insulin pumps, glucose sensors, mobile apps, and cloud computing systems. In Systems Engineering, we manage complexity; technical product design and cross functional team collaboration. We work in the space between marketing, engineering (mechanical/electrical/software), clinical, UI/UX, regulatory, and quality to bring these experts together to collaboratively design medical device products.

You will lead, direct, and organize Systems Engineering cybersecurity activities in product development from concept ideation through to fielded products. You will also serve as the Cybersecurity Systems Engineer lead on several projects. Provide project teams working on concept designs, product development, and architecture designs with analysis and design support to ensure that cybersecurity is a part of the design process early in the development cycle. Define cybersecurity requirements, features, and interfaces. Organize and plan the security testing for a product. Analyze and address security inquiries for fielded products. Your participation will also be instrumental in helping the Core Team Leader organize the project's execution.

A Day in the Life

* Serve as the technical project lead for cybersecurity engineering on a project
* Serve as a cybersecurity technical expert on fielded product cybersecurity monitoring and investigations
* Lead and drive collaborative cybersecurity design and development of medical devices; mobile apps, insulin pumps and glucose sensors
* Support collaborative design and development of cybersecurity features in apps and cloud data systems
* Lead technical cybersecurity analysis
* Develop system concepts, capture user needs, and create use cases or user stories
* Develop and manage multiple levels of cybersecurity requirements
* Develop and document cybersecurity in interface designs and protocols
* Define, plan, and conduct formal technical cybersecurity design and test reviews
* Guide, develop, and review cybersecurity verification strategies, test designs, test tools, planned execution and documentation

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

* Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
* Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
* Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
* Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline and 7+ years of technical engineering professional experience

or

* Master's degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline with 5+ years of technical engineering professional experience

Nice to Have

* Experience in product cybersecurity
* Experience capturing architectures, system designs, or product definitions
* Writing technical documentation
* Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS or PTC Integrity
* Experience leading projects
* Experience in technical design techniques such as use cases, functional analysis, timeline analysis, and sequence diagrams
* Experience in mobile app or web-based systems design, development, verification, and documentation
* Experience with mobile apps deployment and post launch maintenance
* Experience working with communications protocol design, definition and documentation
* Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical device, defense, or automotive.
