Power BI Developer

Job Description

Covestic is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to support our client's enterprise analytics and reporting projects. This role requires and individual who has 8+ years of experience developing corporate BI solutions, 2+ years of recent experience working with Microsoft Power BI and has used iterative design processes and prototyping to build solutions that align to the business sponsors' needs.

Responsibilities:

* Work with BA's to translate business requirements into working prototypes
* Follow iterative design processes to evolve the solution (ie, report, dashboard, metric, visualization) to meet the business' need
* Actively engage with stakeholders and BA's to identify creative alternatives and enhancements to reports and data visualizations
* Build BI reports, dashboards, drill-downs, filters, graphs, etc. on the Microsoft Power BI platform
* Unit test code prior to demoing to others and committing to repository
* Help foster and promote a collaborative, positive, and fun work environment
* Demonstrate strong initiative to take on new tasks, help others understand concepts, and be a team player

Required Hard Skills and Experience

* 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise BI solutions
* 2+ years of recent experience developing data-driven views, reports, objects, hierarchies, filters, dashboards, metrics and visualizations on the Microsoft Power BI platform
* Has demonstrated the ability to use rapid prototyping and iterative design processes to evolve a solution

Desired Hard Skills:

* Experience working in a DevOps environment with automated builds and automated testing
* Experience applying Test Driven Development (TDD) on one or more recent project
* Followed a full Agile SDLC methodology
