Job Description

Facebook is seeking a Postdoctoral Applied Researcher to help us address the challenges we face in understanding value and improving quality of correctness signal provided by developer - defined tests and other forms of software verification. Individuals in this role are expected to be recognized experts in the area of testing and verification of computer software. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in producing new science and building systems to improve productivity of Facebook's internal developers. RESPONSIBILITIES

* Collaborate on research to advance the state of the art in change-based test selection and test flakiness mitigation.



Prototype solutions to enhance the quality of correctness signal provided by developer-defined tests and other forms of software verification.

Devise novel methods for quantifying effectiveness of test suites at detecting correctness and performance regressions in computer software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a PhD degree in Computer Science or related field.



Experience collaborating within a team to solve analytical problems using quantitative approaches.

Experience manipulating and analyzing data from varying sources.

Experience communicating research to audiences of peers.

Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience conducting original research in the area of testing and software verification that can be applied to problems at Facebook.
