Job Description

Job Summary

Manages the technology architecture staff and performs the enterprise architect role. Responsible for researching, analyzing, designing, defining, and proposing requirements-based solutions that are appropriate for business and technology strategies. Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) to IT groups in planning resource requirements for systems under design and development. Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business units. Makes hiring decisions. Provides work direction and guidance to staff. The level of work is considered advanced and staff must work under minimal supervision. This position has direct reports.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Leads the creation, evolution, and vision of the enterprise architecture function, including coordination of an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise business, information, technical and solution architectures
* Leads the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to develop enterprise Cloud architecture requirements
* Analyzes technology industry and market trends and determines potential impact on the enterprise
* Develops, manages, and forecasts capacity requirements based on business needs and IT infrastructure growth capacity
* Facilitates the development of policies to ensure that existing capacity is used efficiently
* Ensures that space requirements are met across a variety of platforms
* Ensures that capacity workload modeling and availability analysis is performed for various platforms and environments
* Ensures reliability and availability of platforms to meet business objectives
* Communicates complex technical subjects to various audiences
* Guides, mentors, motivates, and develops direct reports to assist in their professional growth and development
* Provides goals for staff, conducts performance reviews and career management assistance
* Assists in the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of new talent
* Presents to management and leadership statistical availability and trend analysis and recommendations
* Maintains business acumen by balancing cost, risk, scope and time
* Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience
* Master's degree preferred
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in multiple IT infrastructure disciplines.
* 5 years in systems architecture
* 3 years managing staff and cross-functional teams

Knowledge and Skills

* Demonstrated excellence in project management skills and attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Presentation skills required
* Exceptional analytical skills and proven ability to apply, interpret and explain complex technical subjects
* A strong leader with demonstrated ability to manage staff, build teams and coalitions
* Possesses and applies both specific and broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the field of specialization to the completion of assignments
