Position Overview

Align is seeking a Physical Security Project Manager with experience managing all levels of custom security build-out projects. Ideal candidates will also have an interest to learn more about IT Physical Layer and Workplace Technologies. This person will have the opportunity to grow into a leadership role working with a great team and acting as a key contributor in the continued success of our Workplace Technology Solution. The Physical Security Project Manager will report directly to the Professional Service Director. This is an ideal opportunity for a polished project manager that has experience with all elements of physical security as it relates to the construction process programs and office technology build-outs. Experience managing large corporate office IT construction projects would be beneficial also.

This person will:

* Provide physical security consulting services which include comprehensive risk assessment and vulnerability analysis, customized security systems design, systems build-out and maintenance handoff
* Exceptional communication and project management skills are required

We seek an energetic professional who has a proven track record leading project with a focus on physical security and low voltage structured cabling. Some IT construction and IT physical layer experience is strongly preferred. Qualified candidates should be familiar with most of the following: workplace design and construction; audio/video system design and implementation; physical security and smart office systems.

* The Physical Security Project Manager will be based in our New York City office; however, this person will be required to travel to and work at client locations in the New York Metropolitan area and within the United States (up to 25 percent)

Responsibilities

* Responsible for managing all levels of custom security build-out projects, including proposal development, client administration, oversight of delivery team and quality control
* Physical security consulting services will include comprehensive risk assessment and vulnerability analysis, customized security systems design, systems build-out, and maintenance handoff
* Provide executive-level consulting and advice to clients and management regarding various aspects of workplace technology, with a focus on security and low voltage structured cabling
* Act as technology representative at client construction meetings as well as internal project team affiliates including IT and Facilities, etc.
* Communicate the impact of physical security technology and industry trends and the value of each of these solutions
* Develop and maintain the project plan
* Manage customer relationships, advise the project stakeholders throughout the project life cycle, and identify opportunities to expand the scope of engagements when appropriate
* Oversee and manage all aspects of the project including:
* Communication between customers and project team members
* The workflow associated with the project team member
* Project risk
* Project schedule
* Project budget
* Conflict resolution
* Project changes
* Overall project delivery
* Project quality


* Manage overall engagement profitability, revenue, margins, utilization goals, pricing, and contract administration while providing leadership, mentoring, and advice to internal Align professionals
* Actively participate in all levels of business development by partnering with the sales team and other professionals in presales activities, proposal development, solution pricing, resourcing, and client presentations
* Drive continuous enhancement of solution offerings, consulting methodologies, and provide thought leadership in the collaborative development of marketing materials and workflow/process documents

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction is preferred
* Strong practical experience in physical security solutions design and implementation
* At least 5 years of project management experience, with a focus on physical security and low voltage structured cabling, ideally with IT physical layer office space construction, workplace technology implementation and large IT relocation project experience
* Must be proficient with all elements of physical security as it relates to the construction process from schematic design through the bid process and construction administration
* Understanding of low voltage technology (CCTV, Alarms, access control, door hardware) and a variety of security technology systems and vendors.
* Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP addresses, MAC addresses)
* Experience reviewing physical security and IT drawings
* Physical security consulting and project management experience are core requirements, but any additional experience managing related business-critical IT workplace technology projects such as physical layer design, IT construction project management, cabling infrastructure, end user relocation and new office build-out would be a plus
* Strong knowledge and experience working with physical security systems such as:
* Electronic Security and Safety Systems
* Video Surveillance
* Access Control Systems
* Intrusion Detection Systems
* CCTV Solutions
* Physical Security
* Must be a confident public speaker able to present to high-profile clients
* Experience managing teams and budgets
* Prior professional services or consulting experience managing large custom security build out projects is beneficial
* Basic knowledge in any of the following areas is a plus: workplace design and construction; technology collaboration tools; BYOD tools and techniques; workplace architecture and construction; audiovisual system design and implementation; telepresence platforms and smart office systems
* Prior P&L management experience is beneficial
