Better Business Planning is currently looking for someone to join our Payroll department in our Itasca office.

The Client Services & Implementation Specialist is responsible for providing payroll software support to a group of clients and providing them with the utmost in customer service within a team atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have strong Payroll, Tax, and Accounting knowledge, as well as a strong time management skills. An individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment is energetic, and has a strong work ethic will make an excellent addition to our company. DUTIES

* Provide superior customer service
* Work with computers and file downloads to process Payroll and HR
* Ensure the daily support of clients, answering questions regarding the payroll software, report writing, and regular processing
* Research various payroll issues for clients and co-workers
* Professionally deal with clients and tax support representatives
* Keep abreast of changes in the payroll and payroll tax areas
* Collaborate with the project team, internal partners, external client, and third parties to ensure the successful delivery of the time and attendance management system
* Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

* Ability to write SQL queries and understand database issues
* Understand accounting and use analytical skills to solve problems
* Understand W2 and tax-related questions that might come up
* Experience with automated enterprise systems for leading global fortune 1000 companies. Specific experience with Payroll modules within Mangrove, Workday, Ultimate, Lawson or ADP is strongly desired. If you have experience in this field, please note on your application.
* CPP Certification preferred
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn other application programs as needed
* General awareness of various HR disciplines and understanding as they relate to payroll, benefits, taxation, accounting, employment documentation, employment and general HR practices
* Ability to lead and coach a team through development processes; ability to communicate to a wide audience the technical applications of payroll as applied to business and accounting
* Practical knowledge of payroll and time systems, production environment and implementation practices
* Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills
* Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed

PREFERENCE

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

* FPC preferred
* CPP preferred
* Previous experience working with clients in a fast-paced, highly sophisticated, deadline oriented service environment. Prior payroll knowledge and experience highly desirable.
* Ability to communicate in a constructive and collaborative manner by speaking, listening, and writing effectively.
* Ability to build effective internal and external client relationships and demonstrate professionalism and urgency when responding to client requests.
* Efficiently probe for understanding client need(s).
* Useful interpersonal skills with internal and external clients and the ability to leverage these relationships to create a team atmosphere, maintain compliance, and educate clients.
* Useful analytical/ problem-solving skills.
* Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing any changes in work responsibilities or the environment.
* Able to adjust efficiently to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures including multi-product support to consistently deliver quality service.
* Create promoters of BBP with each interaction and drive improvements in client retention based on client feedback.
* Taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Ability to consistently follow processes and procedures.
* Understanding of BBP business/strategy/goals to be able to produce innovative ideas/solutions which drives increased utilization of new products and services.
* Proficient in the navigation of PC applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
* Proficiency and utilization of BBP specific systems.
* Ability to mentor, coach, and guide peers.
* Support manager and add to bench strength.
* Understands how individual actions/results impact business financials.
