Job Description

The Database Administrator creates, maintains, designs, monitors and troubleshoots Acxiom or client databases. They use specific relational database management systems, develop and implement database recovery mechanisms and procedures. And coordinate security measures to safeguard database integrity.

What you will do:

* Builds database systems of high availability, high performing and secured with proactive monitoring for both availability and performance.
* Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide high performance database services
* Provide proactive and reactive data management support
* Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
* Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
* Monitor Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL Alerts, configuration via monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Zenoss, SQL Monitor, etc.
* Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
* Troubleshooting and providing solutions for Database issues on availability, performance and security
* Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications.
* Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
* Participates and supports on-call rotation
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices etc.
* Coordinate and collaboration with other infrastructure teams

What you will need:

* Minimum 5+ years of experience in database administration of complex systems using Oracle and MySQL.
* Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
* Experience with Oracle 12c, Mysql 5.x
* Experience with Percona cluster, replication, Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
* Experience with DBA monitoring tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, Zenoss and third-party tools
* Strong knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
* Strong operating systems knowledge in Linux
* Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
* Understanding of MsSql and NoSQL technologies like Mongo and Cassandra is a big plus.
* Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities
* Excellent communication and written skills.
* BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
