Oracle Database Designer / Administrator

We are seeking an Oracle Database Designer / Administrator to join our project team in building and implementing enterprise grade software systems.


* Create and administer Oracle 11g and higher database instances in all operating environments
* Create physical and logical database designs based on system requirements
* As part of a development team, design and implement all database objects including schemas, tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures based on system requirements
* Support the installation, configuration and administration of Oracle tools such as WebLogic, OIM, and Oracle Fusion Middleware components
* Develop strong understanding of business requirements
* Develop estimates for design and implementation level of effort
* Conduct data profiling and migration tasks
* Implement and optimize queries and stored procedures
* Analyze the impact of system and data structure changes
* Perform capacity monitoring and planning
* In conjunction with application administrators, conduct database and application performance monitoring and tuning
* When needed, provide support to data center personnel who are responsible for backups, recovery, patching, upgrades, and restarts of Oracle software running on ExaData and ExaLogic platforms
* Conduct backup integrity and disaster recovery exercises
* Enforce change management processes in each environment
* Implement security features to ensure the integrity of system information and Personally Identifiable Information
* (Optional) Implement ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter

Required Qualifications

Required Skills:

* 5+ years in a database designer / administrator role
* Expert knowledge and experience with Oracle including 11g and 12c
* Expert knowledge and experience with Oracle upgrades, patching and troubleshooting
* Expert knowledge of disaster recover solutions
* Expert knowledge of SQL and database programming including developing and enhancing PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and scripts
* Experience working with development staff for application design and efficient use of database technology, to include security
* Expert knowledge and experience with Oracle Performance Tuning
* Strong analytical problem solving skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills

Education/Certification Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Clearance Requirements:

* U.S. Citizen or permanent resident and meet 3-year US residency requirement with the ability to attain a Public Trust clearance

Location: Rockville, MD

Desired Qualifications

Desired Skills:

* Knowledge of Oracle components such as Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Policy Automation (OPA), Oracle Fusion Middleware, JDeveloper, and Oracle SOA
* Experience with ETL development using Informatica PowerCenter
* Agile training or certifications, such as Certified Scrum Master
