The purpose of this work is to acquire an integrated hardware solution and professional Information Technology (IT) services for providing secure, highly available, enterprise HPC services, systems architecture, integration, and consulting services to clients served by the customer.

Job duties:

The candidate will provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized scientific and engineering applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on moderately complex problems that require an appropriate level of knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.

The candidate will apply principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific Delivery Order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions.

In addition, the candidate will assist other senior consultants with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture, networking; telecommunications, automation; communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software; lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation, drawing on experience in IT and in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise.

Specific expertise required for the position:

The candidate must demonstrate high proficiency in designing and operating large-scale HPC systems utilizing high-speed network technology and high-performance file systems, with recognition in the professional community so that the Government is able to qualify the individual as an expert in the field for an actual Delivery Order. Demonstration of expertise includes the ability to Provide technical direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems in the subject matter area; Provides advice on esoteric problems that require extensive knowledge of the subject matter; Make recommendations and advise on system-wide systems improvements, optimization or maintenance efforts, ensuring that proposed solutions or methodologies are clear, concise, and technically correct and proposed methods are consistent with the operation of the overall functional model or system.

The candidate must also demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications

* Masters degree in science or engineering and seven (7) years or more of experience working in the field of HPC with demonstrated peer reviewed publications.
* Must have expertise in design and operation of large-scale HPC systems utilizing high-speed network technology such as InfiniBand FDR and EDR and high-performance parallel file systems such as GPFS and Lustre
* Must be conversant with air and liquid cooling solutions for HPC
* Experience in IT and in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise.
* Must be able to obtain a public trust security clearance.

Desired Education and Qualifications

* A doctoral degree is preferred.
* Publications in scientific or technical journals on use/ application of HPC
* Possesses requisite knowledge and expertise so recognized in the professional community that the Government is able to qualify the individual as an expert.
* Demonstrates exceptional oral and written communication skills.
* Technical certifications from RedHat on Linux administration
