Network Field Technician

Job Description

Overview:

This person is primarily responsible for assisting our Engineering team on implementation projects which include Cisco networking and voice, and Datacenter technologies such as servers and storage devices.

Responsibilities:

* Work alongside Custom's engineering teams on implementation projects
* Support the configuration, installing and troubleshooting of Infrastructure/Wireless/Servers deployments
* Provide documented summations of work assignments including client sign off, punch lists and resolutions

Qualifications:

* Understanding of network/datacenter concepts and designs
* Basic knowledge of IP Networking Protocol
* Knowledge and hands on experience with physical network connectivity
* Knowledge of Cat 5/6 cable and fiber cable technologies and connections
* Knowledge of Cisco network devices, including switches,, routers, firewall/ASAs, wireless controllers, and access points
* Ability to identify and have hands on experience with Cisco network devices and servers (IBM, HP, DELL), etc.
* Effective communicator with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Skilled with organization, decision making and time management
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities
* Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle multiple clients and multiple team members with confidence in a fast paced environment

Preferred (not required)

* A+, Network+ or any other industry certifications
* Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
