The Network Engineer works with other members of the IT department to design, implement, and troubleshoot customer network environments. The Network Engineer plays an integral part in the day to day delivery activities and implementing network environments. The Network Engineer must be able to work with very little supervision in a highly charged and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN);

Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices including Dell/Cisco/Microsoft/VMWare;

Monitor network performance and integrity;

Design and implement complex firewall configurations for securing business and application communications;

Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure;

Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness;

Mentor team members on technical issues;

Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery);

Communicate with users when needed;

Maintain complete technical documentation;

Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability;

Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to provide technical assistance and support; and

Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

A Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Network Engineer

Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic business environment.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Industry-related network engineering experience in complex multi-site environments;

Solid background in network administration and architecture;

In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF);

Familiarity with access control models and network security;

Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds network tools);

Sharp troubleshooting skills;

Ability to work independently; and

Organizational and mentoring skills.
