Network Engineer Consultant

The ideal candidate will join an elite team of enterprise network engineers with an aim to deploy solutions utilizing cutting edge network technologies in the areas of enterprise networks, VOIP/PoE, Wireless, and SDWAN. This is a project based contract role for 6-12 months.

The individual must be able to work with technical engineers and clients that span global offices across the US, EMEA, and APAC.

Principal Responsibilities

* Design, engineer, develop, and deploy network technology for large corporate and remote offices
* Create and maintain clear and accurate network documentation
* The successful candidate must possess extensive networking knowledge, experience, creativity, and capability to work in a complex and fast paced network technology environment. The candidate will work closely with vendors to drive design & deployment to meet or exceed the project requirements.
* Develop network and processes that conform to approved standards
* Responsibilities include but are not limited to deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting the network infrastructure; documenting the IT infrastructure, policies, and procedures; and performing general user support. Applicants are expected to participate in after-hours work and an on-call rotation.

Qualifications/Skills Required

* Deep Experience across multi-vendor technologies - Cisco, Meraki, Aruba.
* Experience with DWDM & Dark Fiber a plus
* Ability to undertake different vendor equipment evaluations and trials.
* Strong Foundation with Enterprise network technologies - including Multicast, ECMP, L2/L3, WAN/MAN design, expert in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
* Proficiency with Arista Cloudvision a plus
* Fluency in Python and Bash. Knowledge of scripting to automate tasks
* Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in a technical engineering role for low latency networks and electronic trading.
* Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
* Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
* Passion for providing a high level of service and support to internal customers
* Experience with documentation, Visio schematics preferred
* DAS (Distributed Antenna System) installation oversight
* Experience working directly with Cisco routers, switches, wireless and Quality of Service is a plus
