Overview

Sally Beauty Holdings, the world's largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies, is currently searching for a network Architect. Our world headquarters is conveniently located just 5 minutes north of Lake Lewisville off of I35E in DFW.

The network architect is accountable for pro-actively and holistically leading or supporting Network activities that create deliverables that guide the direction and development for technological responses to disruptive forces, and driving targeted business outcomes. Technologies include networking solutions around data center, cloud infrastructure, mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

Network architects provide the strategic leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required for the development of an enterprise's network architecture. They create deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (reusable standards, guidelines, individual parts and configurations) for evolving the technical infrastructure across the enterprise, in order to enable business strategy and deliver targeted business outcomes. They facilitate and orchestrate the delivery of targeted business outcomes through technical decisions.

Responsibilities

* Designs, plans and implements data and communications networks using the latest technology to prepare for business growth
* Development and design of highly available, tightly integrated, secure, flexible, and fault-tolerant networking systems
* Designs, Implements and supports applications optimization, load balancing and WAN optimization
* Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models for the SBH Network.
* Drive digital innovation by leveraging innovative new technologies and approaches to renovate, extend, and transform the existing core technology base and IT estate.
* Define high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state, typically in sync with the IT budgeting or other capital planning processes.
* Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. In addition, lead the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise as well as on the enterprise technology architecture.
* Coach, mentor and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and network peers to develop technology architecture that enables and drives new business capabilities and operating models

Qualifications Credentials and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
* Ten years of design and implementation experience in IT, with a deep knowledge in network and security architecture.
* Deep understanding in a diverse number of technical configurations, technologies and processing environments (such as Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, Aruba)

Skills

* SME in network and security architecture
* Demonstrated proficiency in the following: TCP/IP, Routing Protocols (OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, BGP), QoS, Multicast, MPLS, Network Segmentation
* Strong understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library standards (ITIL)
* DNS, ARP, FTP, TFTP network based applications
* Ability to lead a project in the Solutioning, Design, Implementation, up to closure
* All knowledge must be based on actual and current product experience and thought leadership roles
* Need mix of architect and operations experience
* Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
* Strong leadership skills
* Excellent analytical and technical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
