No Duties and Responsibilities

This position will perform a combination of technical and resource services in the installation, operation, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of voice and data networks. It will also provide technical support to clients and assist with project work for a variety of infrastructure- and facilities-related initiatives.

* Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains telecommunications equipment and surveillance equipment.
* Installs, configures, and supports voice/data network hardware and software.
* Analyzes and resolves voice/data network problems.
* Creates and keeps current network documentation, including network problems and resolution logs for future reference.
* Provides technical support and guidance to users.
* Determines plan layout for moderate equipment changes or network modifications.
* Works with senior-level analysts and other ITS staff on infrastructure-related projects.
* Works as a team member with other Infrastructure Services staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
* Performs other projects and responsibilities as required.

The majority of the work for this position will occur within the standard work week. However, this position will be on-call, and may need to work during off-hours to respond to problems, maintenance, and scheduled projects.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Associate's degree or its equivalent.

and

Experience in telecommunications, networking, or related field.
