The Air Surveillance Command and Control (C2) Systems Department assists in the design and development of tactical air defense systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) and US international allies. Work includes major airborne and ground-based radar and battle management integration projects in development or undergoing modification and enhancement of critical capabilities. MITREs Air Surveillance C2 Systems Department solves the most pressing challenges facing the Air Force by architecting systems in the intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), battle planning and management, and command and control (BMC2) domains.

Key Functions:

* Apply System Engineering principles to support acquisition strategy development, development of system technical requirements, and identification and mitigation of technical risks
* Review technical specification documentation for completeness and correctness and present technical briefings and papers to government program office customers
* Identify opportunities to apply emerging technology to the air surveillance and C2 domains
* Develop and present prototypes and system models to help customers frame emerging technology trends to increase affordability, efficiency, and effectiveness

B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar field

Broad technical knowledge, including experience in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: Command and Control Systems, cross-system interoperability, networking and communications, radar and sensor modeling and/or information technology

Excellent interpersonal, writing, communication, and briefing skills to interact with team members and to effectively work hand and hand with the US Government and international customer program manager
